From floods to fabulous – local salons pamper pre-school staff
 [ Sunday 24th June 2012 ] By Riley's Admin  Print This Article
A group of salon owners are lending a manicured hand to the Crawshawbooth pre-school flood appeal.

Staff at the pre-school have been working around the clock, on a massive clean up operation, to get the school back on its feet after it was devastated in the June floods.

Now, the mums of the pre-school’s pupils are asking local salons to help them pamper the ladies, who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to save this community lifeline.

Salons Claxtons, Top to Toe, Freddie’s, B Beautiful and Le Salon are offering free beauty treatments to the six women as a special thank you for all their efforts.

This follows weeks of fundraising efforts from the Crawshawbooth community to organise a family fun day to raise money to replace the pre-school’s items lost to the floods. It will take place on 22nd July.

Paula Riley, from Riley’s Butchers in the village, is behind the campaign. She says: “We have been overwhelmed by the donations we have had so far, the community is fantastic.

“The mums of the pre-school children came to me to ask how they could thank the staff for really going that extra mile to make sure the pre-school will live on after the devastating floods.

“I approached salon owners and they were more than happy to help by treating the ladies to a well-deserved beauty treatment.”
